Because of Mars Retrograde, New Years intentions may not be the best, well, intention. Wait until after Mars goes direct on Feb. 23.
And so when we look at January, it’s important to note that we begin January with Mars retrograde. Mars retrograde began on December 6th, and it will last until February 23rd when Mars stations direct. Mars is the planet of action, willpower, courage, motivation, aggression. So when Mars is retrograde we are reviewing all of those Mars themes. For many people, Mars retrograde is experienced by low energy and low motivation. And that can be frustrating. Because you want to be like doing things and getting projects off the ground or want to find the motivation yourself to do things, whether it's like a whole new habit you're trying to create or just even like every day tasks, like vacuum the floors and get the mail but you find you don’t have the energy to do any of that.
January 2: Venus enters Pisces: Venus is our values. Often it's pretty much summed up as love and money, but really you can take the Venus archetype and make it more personal for you by thinking about what you value. And then we have Pisces,
which is the sign Venus is entering. Now Pisces is all about dreams and creativity and imagination. When Venus is in Pisces we tend to see the world a little bit more through our intuition. We tend to rely on our gut instincts more, especially when it comes to relationships and finances. And we tend to seek out things that really inspire us, that speak to our creative side, that feel maybe a little lush to us, a little indulgent. I really feel like this Venus in Pisces energy right now because I think it will help infuse a little life into us, especially if we are feeling down because of the Mars retrograde. And so if you are really noticing you have less motivation or less energy, try leaning into that Venus in Pisces energy of connecting with your intuition, connecting to your creativity, following your intuition and creativity, I think it could really help uplift us a little bit.
3: Mars opposite Pluto: This is a heads up day where you want to watch for tempers, for aggression, for people lashing out, particularly around the theme of power, which is Pluto. Power struggles are likely to come up with Mars opposite Pluto, where people, their knee jerk reaction is going to potentially be to just one up the other. So you just want to keep an eye out for that and stay clear of those situations if you can.
4: Sun sextile Saturn: This is a great transit for dealing with things that you've been putting off. And it's usually like things that just have to get done. It's responsibilities, it's tasks that are a little bit more mundane that most people just don't want to do. Sun sextile Saturn is really good for just like finding the resolve to just say, I'm going to do this and get it over with so I can cross it off my list.continue through February). Retrogrades asks us to slow down, and to trust. Trust that we don’t have to push through and work all of the time to see results. Trust that we are held and supported by the Universe. Trust that we don’t have control and can’t see where we’ll end up, even through we try and plan like we do
